Bob Nattenberg

IBM - 1988

I worked for 6 months in IBM's Federal Systems Division in Owego, NY as an intern while attending college.

My main task was to render binary data sent by avionics computers into a human readable form.  The data was sent via an IEEE 488 interface bus to an IBM PC where it was captured, parsed, and made sense of.

I had a fantasy about working for IBM.  However, after working for them, I realized that I didn't want to work for IBM after that. I also didn't I want to live through another east coast winter!

Perhaps the most memorable part of my experience was the cross-country drives back and forth from San Luis Obispo to Owego.
